You needed a shoulder,

I gave you one,

You needed shelter,

I opened the doors of my house,

You needed a friend,

I took you as one of my best,

I did not realize it.

You were the enemy within,

Jealousy was all over you,

Hate was your footstool,

You talked about me to my friends,

And turned them against me,

So they could see you were good,

My true allies told me to be wary of you,

I brushed them off,

And gave you the benefit of doubt,

I still never saw the animosity in your eyes,
